How Can I Refer Myself?

Your First Steps to Taking Control

You have taken the first steps in taking control by contacting us!

Approximately 30% of referrals are made up of clients who contact FAAS of their own volition.  Some people are in crisis and telephone for assistance.  Others have thought of getting help for some time and are aware of the range of services FASS can provide.  Some clients simply drop in to the office to arrange an appointment.  It is widely recognised by staff and counsellors that the public perception of FASS services remains relatively low, with genuine confusion about FASS and Alcoholics Anonymous.  FASS is not an anti-drink organisation and promotes a sensible approach to alcohol.

If you think you may have an alcohol problem try our ONLINE QUIZ to help you decide whether to come for counselling.

You can call into our office at 17 Tolbooth Street, Kirkcaldy or telephone - 01592 206200.

We are here to help and our service is completely confidential!

Coming for Counselling

You may feel awkward or nervous when you come for counselling for the first time.  Dont worry, most people feel the same way, and your counsellor fully understands this.

Will anyone else find out what I say?

Everything that you and your counsellor talk about is strictly confidential to this agency.  All our counsellors are fully trained, and are not allowed to pass any information about you or your problems to anyone outside of FASS without your permission.  Under certain circumstances we may be obliged to pass information on if ordered to do so by the law, or if someone else is put in danger by what you say to us.  However, this would only be done after discussing it fullly with you first.
